Annie L. Nguyen, PhD, MPH

Dr. Nguyen is currently an associate professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health at the University of California, San Diego. She previously spent 8 years at the University of Southern California in the Department of Family Medicine as an assistant professor. She obtained her PhD in Public and Community Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin, her MPH from Dartmouth College, and her BS in Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
Her research interests are in social determinants of health and health disparities with a focus on successful aging outcomes in older adults living with HIV. Her training and experience draws upon community-engaged approaches. Her research investigates the ways health behaviors change over time in response to health, stress, and life trajectories. Her current research projects explore successful aging among older men living with HIV and advance care planning among older adults with HIV.
